IMEI Checker — Validate Any IMEI
Paste a 15-digit IMEI to verify its Luhn check digit and see how it breaks down into TAC, serial number, and check digit.
Digits only, 15 characters. Spaces and dashes are ignored automatically.
How the Luhn check works
Starting from the rightmost of the first 14 digits, double every second digit, subtract 9 from any result above 9, sum everything up, then choose the check digit that makes the total a multiple of 10. Every IMEI generated above passes this check.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is an IMEI number?
The 15-digit identifier mobile networks use to recognize a physical handset.
Are the generated numbers valid?
They pass the Luhn checksum, so they are structurally valid for tests, but they are not assigned to any real device.
What are they used for?
QA testing of forms and device profiles, app development and mock datasets that need realistic phone identifiers.
Can they unlock or register a real phone?
No. They are synthetic test data with no relationship to real hardware or carrier records.
Is it legal to use an IMEI generator?
Yes. Generating random IMEI numbers with a valid checksum is legal for software testing, QA, and development purposes. It becomes illegal only if you use one to spoof a real device on a cellular network or alter a physical phone's IMEI where laws prohibit it.
How does the Luhn check work in an IMEI?
The 15th digit of an IMEI is a Luhn checksum computed from the first 14 digits. Alternating digits are doubled, results over 9 are reduced by 9, and the total must be divisible by 10. Our generator calculates this digit automatically so every output passes validation.
Can I generate multiple IMEI numbers in bulk?
Yes. You can produce batches of 100, 500, or more unique numbers in seconds directly in your browser. Copy the full list to your clipboard or download it as a text or CSV file for importing into spreadsheets, test databases, or mock API responses.
Do generated IMEIs get stored or sent to a server?
No. Generation runs entirely in your browser using JavaScript, so the numbers never leave your device and the tool works offline once the page loads. Nothing is logged, stored, or shared, which makes it safe for internal or confidential testing projects.
How This IMEI Generator Works
Each IMEI is built from a TAC (8 digits), serial number (6 digits), and a final Luhn checksum digit.
All generation happens with browser-side randomness and validation logic.
Usage Notice
This tool is for testing, development, and educational purposes. Do not use generated IMEI for illegal or fraudulent activities.
